VIRTUAL KIDS DIVE

Due to the pandemic outbreak we had to reinvent Kids Dive. We did it with the goal of transmitting the values related to the protection of the Ocean without posing any additional risks to the participating students.

The project included two days of activities implemented in different schools. A first day that included a live Instagram session from a nearby rocky shore, where the pools and rocky platforms were explored. And a second day with webinars where scientists presented a variety of subjects (e.g. the importance of marine protected areas, the role of sharks in food webs, climate change and ocean acidification, plastic pollution). These talks included virtual dives with cardboard VR360º goggles. Also, Virtual Reality 360º videos were recorded along the Portuguese waters.
