(…) As soon as I dived, already with the respirator in my mouth, I found it a little strange since I’ve been swimming since I was very young to be underwater and breathing in didn’t occur very naturally (…) Although I had already been warned that the last bow would be covered with plastic I ended up going against it anyway which really made me realise how invisible certain plastics can be underwater (…) I also learned about the polymers of plastic that I saw marked on the packaging but had never really understood until now. We finished the afternoon with the Lisbon Zoo workshop where we had a videoconference with a zoo biologist and then we got together in pairs to make a video about one of the zoo’s aquatic species (…) ) I left this afternoon with a much greater sensitivity to this problematic even though I am not completely ignorant on the subject since I am a Girl Scout, and I will undoubtedly pass on this new acquired knowledge to my family and friends since our planet is being increasingly destroyed and we are suffering with the serious side effects that could be avoided with simple changes in habits on a global scale.
